Tot School

This is our first official Tot School Post!!! I’m very excited to get the ball finally rolling!!! I’ve been so eager to start Tot School with Max but have been a little intimidated to start. I spent much timing searching the web over for ideas (and accumulated plenty!!), then became overwhelmed. I found a quote by Carisa from 1+1+1=1 stating “Tot school is nothing more than intentionally providing your tot with age appropriate activities that are fun and engaging. By choosing specific toys and activities, we expose our tots to a variety of early learning skills. Mastery is not the goal FUN is!!” I read this and felt as if a weight had been lifted from my shoulders!!!

***Max is 27 months old and Jake is 9 months old***

Being our first week- we didn’t do a whole week’s worth of activities yet…we’re slowly getting into the swing of things!!!

Max played with a toy that is actually Jake’s…but did so well with it. It’s a cookie jar with colored/numbered shaped “cookies”. Max was able to tell me the colors, numbers and the shapes as he put them in the jar!! I was so proud of him and impressed with what he knew. I had been so caught up with TOOLS to create tot school I didn’t even realize we could just play with some of the (tons of) toys in our house!!!

Max also loved the new “Chuggington” show on Disney. He loves watching the trains and plays with his own “chee chee’s” while he watches.

Max and Jake spent a lot of time looking at books this week (which is really neat to see them both sitting on the floor looking at them!!).

Jake has learned to pull himself up very easily on toys and spent quite a bit of time playing with the “box”. He’s becoming quite an explorer!!!

Daddy also has been working on colors with Max while Jake watches. Grandma played the drum with Max and Jake this week and helped them take turns. Granny brought new finger paints (I love you Color Wonder products!!!) and Max played with those!!!

Thanks for taking a look here!!! I’m eager to do more tot school activities and be more deliberate with play time with the boys (and introduce new skills and concepts!!). Check out Carisa’s blog for more ideas for Tot School!!
