Max is 2!!!!

And evidently this is how a 2 year old rolls.......

Not at all sitting still anymore for the chair pics!!!

But the boy knew how to rip into a Birthday present (disregard the christmas wrapping paper)

My car/truck/train lover is now a geotrax boy!!!

He and daddy had so much fun putting it together. It's still a huge hit- he runs straight to it every morning!!!

It's been a busy few days so I got behind on the blog!!! His birthday was saturday. On friday when granny, grandma, and pawpaw were here they did presents (a lot of cars) and cake. We did chair pictures saturday morning and he opened his geotrax. On sunday he had an ice cream cake down at granny's. Monday we had dinner with our friends and opened presents for the 2 boys (Max's friend D turned 2 just a few weeks ago). Tuesday all the first cousins on my side were over and grandpa came up and grandma was here and we had dinner, cupcakes and more presents!!! Today, we're staying home all day. Momma's exhausted!!!

Bubby Max-

I cannot believe you're 2 years old!!! These past 2 years have been fun, exciting and hard all at the same time!! Its amazing watching you grow and develop!! Its so neat to see your little personality shine!!!

Everyone said you looked just like your Daddy, but now everyone says you look just like Mommy!!!

I love your blonde hair and curls!! I love your daredevil spirit- even though it scares the bejeebers out of me!!

I love that your first word was truck and how you get excited when you see construction workers!!! Everyone at church thinks its precious how you cry and whine as we head towards the nursery but go in on your own free will and play SO well!!

You get so excited when you see all your cousins and love to play and chase them!!

You love your little brother- you make him give his belly laugh and hug him whenever you can!!

You know when you're testing your boundaries with us and have your Daddy's silly grin when getting into trouble!!

You share your Daddy's love of Pop Tarts and Mommy's love of television!!!

You play with cars morning till night (and I swear sometimes in your sleep)!!

It was tough when Mommy was pregnant with little brother and I couldn't carry you and was sick and had no energy! That may have been the hardest time of my life. But now I love to get down on the floor with you and Jake and play and get attacked with kisses and hugs!!!

I pray for you everyday!! I'll pray you'll grow up knowing God and loving Jesus! I pray that you and Jake will be the best of friends!!!

You are such a big boy now - but you'll always be my firstborn, my baby, my Bubby Max! Mommy and Daddy love you now and forever!!!

6 months old!!!

Look at the big boy!!!

He's weighing in at 16 1/2 lbs and 27 inches tall!!!

Does this look like a kid that got 6 shots today???

Took them like a champ I tell ya!!!

We thought we'd try something new for the chair pics this time...since I'm not sure if both boys will fit in one chair!!!

Then we moved the chairs to in front of the TV for some more pictures.....


they are just fascinated with each other!!!

I hope they become best of friends!!!

Jake's 4 month stats

At 4 months, Mr. Jake is 14 lbs, 8.1 oz, 24 3/4 inches long and has a head circumference of 16 inches. He got 5 vaccinations and took them like a champ!!!

He's my belly sleeper. He's been rolling over for a while and when we put him down on his back he flips immediately to his belly to sleep. He'll still take the paci some, but it is not a necessity and we don't use it at bedtime. I think he'll be a thumb/finger sucker....and it's so cute. He's now just swaddled with his arms out and is sleeping through the night (hope I don't jinx it by saying that out loud!!). He still loves the swing, but I'm not sure how much longer we'll be able to use it.

Jake is really starting to respond to Max. He loves watching him. Jake really wants attention and lets you know if you've been ignoring him too long!! He loves when you talk to him and he'll be happy to join in and talk back!!!

He is still just a little fussy in the evenings. We've been playing with moving up his bedtime (hopefully without disturbing that wonderful sleeping through the night) and it seems to be helping him get through that witching hour.

Baby Jake- mommy, daddy and big bro Max love you so much!!! You are our smiley baby and such a wonderful addition to our family!!!

If you saw my mommy blog you saw my post about the grumpy boys last night! In honor of that, I dressed them alike today in their crabby shirts!!! Hopefully they won't be too crabby today so mommy and grandma can get the canning done!!!

Yes, I'm that mom....

Much to my husbands dismay...I am that mom....I dress my boys alike!!!

Not every day. I just have a few outfits that match. But it's my right, I have 2 boys. And they're so. stinking. cute.

disclaimer: although I'm not that mom that makes her oldest son wear socks with his sandals...they're new and we're breaking them in!!!

3 weeks, arts and crafts and various updates

Yup- it's been 3 weeks!!! Baby Jake is growing up!!!

He seems to really be chunking up- his cheeks are fuller and he eats like a champ!! I can't wait to see how he does at his 1 month appt next week!!!

We've been doing "craft" projects with Max in the afternoons. Sometimes it works out well and other times it doesn't. Yesterday we did Color Wonder markers -color wonder products are great because of no mess. Crayons, however, Max eats!!!

And in other news....

Max is a champ at feeding himself!!!

So sweet!!!

This happened yesterday and was probably one of the sweetest moments I've witnessed!! Of course I missed the actual kiss and may not be able to replicate that for a while- but Max is definitely more aware of "baby Jake" now. He loves to pet him, touch him, and maybe even poke him when we're not looking. Jake of course is a trooper and just puts up with it!! Max loves to say "hiiiiiii" to Jake and Jake just looks at him in return!!! It's gonna be so exciting to watch these two boys grow up together!!!
