3 Years Old!!!

My baby turned 3 today!!!!

So we had a Toy Story 3 birthday with the cousins!!!

Max got Buzz Lightyear from Mommy and Daddy!!

He loved the spaceship box almost as much as Buzz himself!!!

All the cousins had so much fun playing with the new toys: Handy Manny, Trio, and Duplo!!! They had a blast!!!

All in all it was a great birthday. Little brother/sister decided not to come today (although mommy was unsure at some points). Max celebrated with his cousins and had a wonderful time (except he still doesn't like it when people sing to him!!!).



And just for a trip down memory lane....here's my baby, just minutes after he was born.....

Haircuts at home!!!

My boys were long......


long...overdue for haircuts.

Jake was sporting a Beiber and Max looked like a blond Jonas.

Don't get me wrong...they were adorable...but starting to look like pretty little girls.

Problem, the last haircut both boys got was so traumatic even mommy didn't want to go back. They screamed and hollered. They hated every minute and set each other off...one would cry so the other one would start. This was even at one of those kids places where they sat in tractor and firetrucks.

I knew there was a better way. Jas and I talked about me cutting their hair. I've read about other bloggers doing it and saving tons of time and $$$. Jas even offered I do his too!!!

So with some convincing from my coworkers, I bought a $20 set of clippers.

We turned on Toy Story 2 I cut my 3 boys hair (Jas, Max, and Jake). It was actually not traumatic at all and while it's not perfect....it's doable. And the clippers actually paid for themselves that day!!! And Jas said I could do it again!!! Yay!!! I feel like it's another rite of passage into motherhood!!!

I know you're curious...here's the after shots...now I said it wasn't perfect...

Bubby Max-

I cannot believe you're 2 years old!!! These past 2 years have been fun, exciting and hard all at the same time!! Its amazing watching you grow and develop!! Its so neat to see your little personality shine!!!

Everyone said you looked just like your Daddy, but now everyone says you look just like Mommy!!!

I love your blonde hair and curls!! I love your daredevil spirit- even though it scares the bejeebers out of me!!

I love that your first word was truck and how you get excited when you see construction workers!!! Everyone at church thinks its precious how you cry and whine as we head towards the nursery but go in on your own free will and play SO well!!

You get so excited when you see all your cousins and love to play and chase them!!

You love your little brother- you make him give his belly laugh and hug him whenever you can!!

You know when you're testing your boundaries with us and have your Daddy's silly grin when getting into trouble!!

You share your Daddy's love of Pop Tarts and Mommy's love of television!!!

You play with cars morning till night (and I swear sometimes in your sleep)!!

It was tough when Mommy was pregnant with little brother and I couldn't carry you and was sick and had no energy! That may have been the hardest time of my life. But now I love to get down on the floor with you and Jake and play and get attacked with kisses and hugs!!!

I pray for you everyday!! I'll pray you'll grow up knowing God and loving Jesus! I pray that you and Jake will be the best of friends!!!

You are such a big boy now - but you'll always be my firstborn, my baby, my Bubby Max! Mommy and Daddy love you now and forever!!!

6 months old!!!

Look at the big boy!!!

He's weighing in at 16 1/2 lbs and 27 inches tall!!!

Took them like a champ I tell ya!!!

We thought we'd try something new for the chair pics this time...since I'm not sure if both boys will fit in one chair!!!

Then we moved the chairs to in front of the TV for some more pictures.....


they are just fascinated with each other!!!

First Foods

We've been doing cereal with Jake for about a month now but tonight we tried sweet potatoes. I wasn't sure how he'd do but he loved them!!!

In fact, he'd get angry with me when I stopped to take pictures because it was taking too long!!!

Max was enjoying watching little brother with his sweet potatoes.

Max also enjoying eating his noodles and green beans!!

Mealtimes are getting more and more interesting and messy at our house!!!

5 months old!!!

Time is sure flying by!!!

My big boy is 5 months old!!!

Jake's 4 month stats

At 4 months, Mr. Jake is 14 lbs, 8.1 oz, 24 3/4 inches long and has a head circumference of 16 inches. He got 5 vaccinations and took them like a champ!!!

He's my belly sleeper. He's been rolling over for a while and when we put him down on his back he flips immediately to his belly to sleep. He'll still take the paci some, but it is not a necessity and we don't use it at bedtime. I think he'll be a thumb/finger sucker....and it's so cute. He's now just swaddled with his arms out and is sleeping through the night (hope I don't jinx it by saying that out loud!!). He still loves the swing, but I'm not sure how much longer we'll be able to use it.

Jake is really starting to respond to Max. He loves watching him. Jake really wants attention and lets you know if you've been ignoring him too long!! He loves when you talk to him and he'll be happy to join in and talk back!!!

He is still just a little fussy in the evenings. We've been playing with moving up his bedtime (hopefully without disturbing that wonderful sleeping through the night) and it seems to be helping him get through that witching hour.

Baby Jake- mommy, daddy and big bro Max love you so much!!! You are our smiley baby and such a wonderful addition to our family!!!

Jake is 4 Months old!!!

Another month has flown by!!! I can't believe it!!!

and Max still loves his baby brother!!!

Three Months!!!

One of these day it'll be posted on the actual day!!!But can you believe that it's been 3 months!!!?

But I finally got their attention...well sort of.

So at 2 months Jake is completely caught up with normal birth weight babies. He loves to suck on his thumb, smile when anyone gives him attention, and sings like his big brother!! Oh and he does have a feisty temper....who does he get that from??? (haha)

4 weeks!!!

Baby Jake had his 1 month appt today and weighs 8lb 4oz!!! We're so excited with how well he's doing and how much he's growing!!!

Of course, Max continues to amaze us every day with his chatter, words, and discovery!!! He is learning new concepts every day!!!

3 weeks, arts and crafts and various updates

Yup- it's been 3 weeks!!! Baby Jake is growing up!!!

He seems to really be chunking up- his cheeks are fuller and he eats like a champ!! I can't wait to see how he does at his 1 month appt next week!!!

We've been doing "craft" projects with Max in the afternoons. Sometimes it works out well and other times it doesn't. Yesterday we did Color Wonder markers -color wonder products are great because of no mess. Crayons, however, Max eats!!!

And in other news....

Max is a champ at feeding himself!!!

Jake's first bath!!!

The little man got his first real bath last night!!!

He doesn't like being cold!!!

Bubby wasn't sure what all the fuss was about!!!

It was a total flashback- he looked just like Max in the tub to me!!!

And I think he's gonna have curls like big brother!!! (at least I hope so!!)
